PennDOT Announces Closure of the Delaware River in Wayne County

Dunmore, PA – PennDOT wishes to announce the closure of the Delaware river to all river traffic due to the causeway installation, and demolition of the Skinner’s Falls Bridge (date to be announced).

  • Delaware River closure signage and exclusion buoys will be placed at the Cochecton-Damascus Bridge.
  • Official signed portage will direct river users to the Narrowsburg Boat Launch.
  • No portage in the vicinity of the bridge will be allowed due to ongoing construction activities.
  • This stage of the ATON will be in place for approximately two months.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
