    Black Rock Road Bridge Replacement Project to Begin May 12 in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County

    King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will begin on Monday, May 12, to replace the bridge that carries Black Rock Road over Crossmans Run in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County.

    Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

    During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Egypt Road, and Route 29 (Bridge Street/Collegeville Road).

    Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays may occur

    The single-span, two-lane, Black Rock Road bridge over Crossmans Run was built in 1925. The bridge is 12 feet long, 22 feet wide and carries approximately 7,796 vehicles per day.

    This repair work is part of a $9.5 million project to replace or rehabilitate several structures across the five-county Philadelphia region.

    Loftus Construction, Inc. of King of Prussia, PA, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
