CSX Railroad to Close Several Highways for Track Maintenance in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that CSX Railroad is planning road closures and detours on several state highways in Delaware County for track maintenance.

The work schedule and locations are:

  • From 8:00 AM Monday, April 14, through 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, a 24-hour weekday closure is scheduled on Oak Lane between Bonsall Avenue and Llanwellyn Avenue in Collingdale, Folcroft, and Glenolden boroughs. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Oak Lane, MacDade Boulevard, Clifton Avenue, and U.S. 13 (Chester Pike).
  • From 8:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, through 12:00 PM Friday, April 18, a 24-hour weekday closure is scheduled on Morton Avenue/Swarthmore Avenue between MacDade Boulevard and Rogers Street in Ridley Township and Ridley Park Borough. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use MacDade Boulevard, Holmes Road/Amosland Road, and U.S. 13 (Chester Pike).
  • From 8:00 AM Monday, April 21, through 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, a 24-hour weekday closure is scheduled on Fairview Road between Sherman Avenue and Emlen Street in Ridley Township. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Fairview Road, U.S. 13 (Chester Pike), Swarthmore Avenue, and MacDade Boulevard.
  • From 8:00 AM Monday, May 19, through 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, a 24-hour weekday closure is scheduled on South Avenue between Bonsall Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue in Glenolden Borough. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use South Avenue, McDade Boulevard, Oak Lane, and U.S. 13 (Chester Pike).
  • From 8:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, through 12:00 PM Friday, May 30, a 24-hour weekday closure is scheduled on Holmes Road/Amosland Road between MacDade Boulevard and Urban Avenue in Ridley Township, Norwood, and Prospect Park boroughs. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Holmes Road, MacDade Boulevard, Route 420 (Kedron Avenue/Lincoln Avenue), U.S. 13 (Chester Pike), and Amosland Road.

Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
