Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a 4-mile resurfacing project on Route 274 (Big Spring Road) in Toboyne Township, Perry County, is scheduled to begin next week. The project limits extend from Center Square Road west to about two miles east of Big Spring State Park.
Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, March 31. There will be daily lane restrictions under flagging from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This is a resurfacing project which consists of asphalt resurfacing, milling, base repair, drainage replacement, guiderail updates, line painting, sign updates, and other miscellaneous construction.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor on this $ 1,664,664 project. All work is expected to be completed by August 29, 2025.
