For this phase of the directive, we are piloting the process of developing model-based deliverables for construction contracts using the OpenRoads Designer software, which includes analysis, 3D modeling and detailing tools. The objectives of this project are to develop a 3D model as complete as possible to reproduce the content traditionally conveyed through contract and also plans, including roadways, drainage systems and utilities, and structures. Project construction inspection staff will use the model in lieu of plan sheets and cross section sheets.
